Following up last month’s track “Tantrum,” “Can’t Let It Go” finds Expert Lovers pursuing a shimmering, guitar-based sound in the mold of The Replacements and Teenage Fanclub. “I can’t let it go,” the vocals repeat amidst the flourishing guitar work, with an enjoyably bass-heavy bounce around 01:50 that transitions steadily into guitar distortion and anthemic vocals. ’90s alt-rock nostalgia is apparent in this section and into the conclusion. “Can’t Let It Go” soars with consuming allure.
