Bushwick Blooze Band – “Waiting”

/

“Waiting” is a raucously enjoyable track from Bushwick Blooze Band, a blues-rock trio. Although the band often features vocals in their material, “Waiting” is an instrumental piece, focusing on guitar work, particularly inspired by Jeff Beck. The Brooklyn-based project projects a series of suave guitar lines and chugging bass. A particularly emotive guitar lead, howling with passion, emerges past the two-minute mark — clearly emphasized amidst a familiar bass line and restrained percussion. The guitar work throughout, and here specifically, conjures a sort of passionate plea — in this case, to keep listening. That’s a plea easily satisfied, as “Waiting’ induces replays with its evident musicianship and standout guitar work.

“Waiting” and other memorable tracks from October can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2020’ Spotify playlist.
