Impressing in September with one of the year’s catchier tracks in the Pulp-esque “V.G.S.O.H. (Sadie’s Song),” Griffin Robillard again struts infectious appeal with new track “1 More Wicked Morning.” Showing an electro-tinged dizzy of power-pop and rock pedigree, the track exudes vibes fondly reminiscent of Arcade Fire’s peppiest efforts. The “just sitting here doing nothing,” chorus rides with an anthemic allure amidst lush backing vocals and guitar-based resonance, all while exuding a certain suave appeal. “I’m so tired of grieving,” the vocals also let out in the chorus, leading to a satiating guitar buzz around the four-minute mark, as the track comes to a satisfying close. Chalk it up as another success for Griffin Robillard.
