Erich Mrak – “No Ways”

/

Erich Mrak again impresses, this time with the track “No Ways.” The Toronto-based artist describes the track as “what happens when you’re a drink away from collapsing and spilling your feelings, when you should’ve said good night and gone home.” The track initially was more in the vein of a country/pop song. The final product touts a lusher dream-pop assortment with the guitar jangles and understated vocals. The reflecting vocal segments around 01:10 play notably, echoing vibes reminiscent of Frank Ocean. Showing an atmospheric yearning, “No Ways” continues a stellar year for Mrak, impressing prior with the tracks “See You In September” and “Girls.”

“No Ways” and other memorable tracks released in September can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2020’ Spotify playlist.
