bandanna – “Sleepy Eyes”

/

Twangy guitars and gliding vocals flourish throughout “Sleepy Eyes,” the latest track from bandanna. Originally formed in Tallahassee, FL and now based in Atlanta, GA, the band released their debut single, “Fire Escape,” last July and have since been at work on their debut LP, uncertainty — out on November 13th. Anna Griffith’s vocals exude a melodic sense of relief in the chorus, singing “Oh I was looking for mine, too and oh, maybe I found one in you.” The guitar jangles and lush background touch of keys converge with hypnotic enjoyment amidst the pleasing vocals. “Sleepy Eyes” succeeds thoroughly from bandanna.

The band elaborate on the track’s themes below:

“‘Sleepy Eyes’ is a message to the oblivious person you are pining for. It’s that unsure feeling of wondering if you should be together, of not knowing if that person feels it too, of wanting them to see what you see. Maybe you’re chasing the same things, maybe you’re not, but you definitely want to look into those sleepy eyes and find out.”

“Sleepy Eyes” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2020’ Spotify playlist.
