W. Cryderman – “Maybe Tomorrow” + “Gimme A Scare”

//

Two cuts from W. Cryderman‘s new album Grande Masterpiece, “Maybe Tomorrow” and “Gimme a Scare” are great examples of the band’s stirring songwriting. In particular, album opener “Maybe Tomorrow” soars with a hooky vigor that reminds of Neil Young’s more rock-forward material. The title-referencing refrain is hard to resist, with a timeless-sounding rock production reverberating throughout — especially in the backing vocal and organ pairing. “Gimme A Scare” consumes with a steadier evolution, as enveloping guitar twangs and organs project a more scorching display. The rise at 03:30 is particularly resonating, following a satiating series of verses.
