“CAMERAS” is the latest track from Kovey Coles, a rapper, guitarist, and producer. Presently residing in Los Angeles after living in Tokyo, New York, and Virginia, Coles is also one-half of electro-R&B duo Browni. “CAMERAS” touts a consuming sound, representing the first track released for Hot American Summer, described as “a series of introspective and socially conscious songs dropping every two weeks throughout this historic summer.”
The “flick of the wrist,” rise past the one-minute mark signals an infectious streak. The ensuing “don’t blame the camera,” vocal push engages similarly, with the pulsing synth backing adding nicely to the vocals’ drive. Poppy key flourishes show thereafter in pleasant form. “CAMERAS” is a mellow, melodic hip-hop success from Kovey Coles.
