SWiiMS – “Fill Me Up”

/

Showing a jangly, nocturnal sound fondly reminiscent of Wild Nothing, “Fill Me Up” is a newly released track from SWiiMS. The Toronto-based quartet are fronted by the serene vocals of Mai Diaz Langou, constructing a dreamy, engrossing quality through to the guitar-fronted conclusion. The track sports a variety of memorable moments. In particular, the “I don’t feel,” hook at 01:10 plays excellently. The jangly guitars throughout combine with a suave vocal presence for an intoxicating sound.

The band describe the track as “a song about the complexity of love and relationships. The good and the bad. The helplessness of falling in love and the recklessness of the end of love.”

Look for SWiiMS’ full release in early August, on Mint 400 Records.

“Fill Me Up” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream-Pop.
