Buzzing synths and a scorching guitar lead open “Time” in gripping, nostalgic form. The track shows a consuming balance between dreamy retrospection and thunderous rock theatrics, a success from Super Flat, a project based out of Knoxville, Tennessee. Following an engaging introduction, the hook at 01:08 dazzles with effervescent synth arpeggios, bursting guitars, and vibrant vocals. “Time” shows great, climactic production alongside the artist’s admiration for dreamy synths and punchy percussion. Super Flat is definitely a project I’m looking forward to hearing more from.
Regarding the track, the artist writes: “The main theme consists of relationships that try to survive only by how much time they have, even though the inevitable is coming and both parties know it. I love washy synths, cutting guitars, and punchy drums in a shuffle; thus this track was born.”
