Premiere: Voluptuous Panic – “Paris Rêve”

/

We’re happy to premiere “Paris Rêve” from Voluptuous Panic, a duo churning out quality dream-pop from Bellingham, Washington. A very late-night vibe is apparent throughout, established by lo-fi percussion, caressing guitars, and subtle piano touches. Vocals and keys ascend at points, like the 44-second mark, though the song retains a comforting, hypnotic pace throughout. The track was written during a particularly creative period for the project, when guitarist/songwriter Brian J. Bowe was living in Paris. Bowe and Gretchen DeVault impress with this project, which I’m looking forward to following.

“Paris Rêve” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream-Pop.
