Valipala – “End Of July”

/

Following impressive tracks like “Candygram” and “Love of My Life,” NYC-based act Valipala are back with a new EP, Bubble. Opener “End Of July” gets things started with enjoyable flair. Relaxed keys and brass adorn the verses, with spurts of brass rising as the chorus approaches. Janelle Monáe is certainly a point of comparison, stylistically. I’m also quite fond of the twinkling key-laden touches amidst the brass, around the three-minute mark — reminding fondly of Japanese city pop from the ’80s. “End Of July” is another success from Valipala.
