The overall rainy-day lonesome vibes remind fondly of Cousteau’s gem “Heavy Weather.” SaffeK, the project of Israel-based frontman/composer Oren Amitai, impresses throughout here. These initial vibes begin to escalate upon a fleeting woodwind line around 01:20, with a thunderous rock segment emerging less than a minute later. Organs, guitars, and rousing vocals converge here for an exhilarating feel. Tender guitars close this one out in engrossing form. “When It Rains” is a great piece of songwriting from SaffeK.
