Catch a Dinosaur – “Pyramid”

/

“Pyramid” showcases the serene dream-pop sound of Catch a Dinosaur, intertwining jangly guitar dreaminess with slight backing synths and a gentle rhythm section. The band — based out of Somerville, Massachusetts — recently released the EP Elevator Music, which includes “Pyramid.” The initial fluttering guitar presence reminds fondly of Alex Scally’s guitar work, with the vocal emergence at 00:54 aligning with a sharp, twangy melodic turn. The wandering, nocturnal guitar tones craft an engaging spell. With shades of Beach House, War on Drugs, and Pink Floyd, “Pyramid” is a very pleasant, dreamy listen.

“Pyramid” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2019’ Spotify playlist.
