Isak Thomas and The Stoop Boys – “I’m Not Going Anywhere”

/

Released today, “I’m Not Going Anywhere” is a consuming track from Boston-based producer/songwriter Isak Thomas. Isak Thomas and The Stoop Boys show a mellow, soulful sound here — complete with emotive wordless vocal harmonizing, late-night key work, and showings of brass and strings. The yearning from the get-go — “let me crawl into your bed, let me crawl inside your head,” — continues with authenticity throughout, resonating especially well as the keys assume a bouncy climax in the final half, ending with a Daryl Hall-esque charm.

The track comes via the project’s new album, Somewhere, Somehow, released today. Stream it in full below:

“I’m Not Going Anywhere” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Indie Soul.
