Kyoto Banana Star recently released their Wait Stop Hit the Breaks EP, offering four songs that span from garage-rock and power-pop to synth-pop. “Hold Me High” incorporates some of the latter, with a fleeting synth line under the lively guitars. “Walking Song” is more in the rock spectrum, with the “always walkin'” vocal amp-up approaching the one-minute mark reminding fondly of The Pixies.
