Cross Wires are a rock act from East London, releasing their debut album A Life Extinct on November 1st, via Culture War Records. The two tracks available thus far are impressive. “How to Detox Smokers Lungs” swaps suave stream-of-conscious vocals with rising raucousness later on, the latter consuming during the “ransacking your home,” and “we are in the sixth extinction,” lines. The band notes that A Life Extinct “is not a concept album in the traditional sense but the theme of Extinction looms large over the 11 tracks.” Recorded at Kluster Rooms in Limehouse, East London and produced by Rory Attwell (The Vaccines, Palma Violets, The Cosmics), A Life Extinct is bound to impress, if “How to Detox Smokers Lungs” and the similarly effective “Paradise Club 1953” are any indication.
