Today marks the release of the Real Time EP from Brooklyn-based artist Linda Gardens. Previously featured with EP track/video “Tubular Steel” in May, the EP expands on Gardens’ atmospheric synth-laden sound and striking vocals. “Tubular Steel” impressed with haunting synths, buzzing bass, and post-punk guitar tones — and that’s generally reflective throughout. The track “Real Time” touts a ghostly synth buzz and quivering, multi-layered vocal tone. “New Year’s Day” is another highlight — showing a murky, gripping soundscape reminiscent of early Ariel Pink. The melodic synth/guitar interplay approaching the one-minute mark consumes, as does the ensuing vocal work. This EP is definitely one we’re happy to premiere.
