Recalling the tranquilly melodic aesthetic of Washed Out, with a more dream-poppy touch, “Only Shadow” is an ethereal gem from Palm Spiral. The collaborative project of Los Angeles-based musicians Camden Moser and Nathan Guzman, Palm Spiral arose from digital communications. Moser stumbled upon Guzman’s project SouthPavv via Tame Impala’s sub-reddit, and the two began to reach out over Instagram. Their mutual admiration for dreamy psych-pop results in this very promising endeavor and the superb “Only Shadow.”
