Another surefire success from Brooklyn shoegazers TARA, following “Second Guess” in April, “Wander” shows the band’s talents further in regard to layered, atmospheric construction. A warming array of bass, soaring guitars, and moody synth pads assemble in the first minute, as the caressing vocals seamlessly emerge at the 34-second mark. At this point, as the vocals emit a serenely entrancing quality and the hypnotic guitars glide with serene endearment, it’s apparent that TARA’s shoegaze-laden, dream-pop aesthetic is thoroughly convincing once again. 01:37 sees the vocals take a reprieve, with a twangy guitar staying constant over a developing rhythm section. The final two minutes show blissful maneuvering, the guitars ascending with added twang and charisma. “Wander” is a gorgeous success from this very promising act.
