FEVRMOON – “Mountain of Dreams”

/

The striking “Mountain of Dreams” is a track released today from FEVRMOON, the talented duo of vocalist Jon Weston and producer Anton Patzner that impressed with “The Work” in April. That track showed a knack for steadily evolving soundscapes with budding strings and emotive vocals, producing a consuming feel that’s similarly successful with “Mountain of Dreams.” Beyond the intro’s wave of electronic energy, a gentle piano arpeggio permeates alongside sounds of nature, accommodating the initially nonchalant vocal presence. A haunting symphonic presence arises around 01:40, casting an emotional and cinematic feeling on the track before a rousing final minute, where strings and electronics converge with great success.

FEVRMOON have impressed very strongly so far this year, and I’m greatly anticipating their next track “Summer Rain” in July.

Patzner explains more about “Mountain of Dreams” below:

The lyrics from this song were taken directly from a shamanic journey that Jon experienced. Shortly after we started our project and made our first song, Jon got really into spiritual stuff and started exploring all kind of spiritual journeying, with and without psychedelics. It’s an inner journey, made with the eyes closed. When Jon came in to my studio write on this song he had just been on a really deep journey the day before and all of the imagery in this song (nature, spirit animals) comes directly from that. It’s a journey of rebirth. Having known Jon before our project and knowing him now, he really has opened up in an amazing way. He used to be really shy and self conscious and now he’s very open and ready to share himself. I think the journeying and music were both a big part of his awakening.

“Mountain of Dreams” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2019’ Spotify playlist.
