“Getting There” is a very catchy new single from Eastern Souvenirs, the project of PNW artist Brian Fisher, now based on the East Coast. Coming from the project’s EP of the same name, “Getting There” shows a deft incorporation of synths and guitars among themes of heartbreak and yearning. Fisher’s melodic vocals are initially accompanied by a slight synth backing and scratchy does of guitars, these verses playing with infectious allure. A whirring array of synths emerge during the chorus, as the guitar melody remains intact although with a more all-encompassing layering. The synth-fronted bridge, just after the 02:30 mark, helps cap this addictive track off with satisfying vigor. I have this one on replay.
