Red Cabin is back with another addictive slice of hooky power-pop, though with more of a rock-leaning tilt than usual. The project of Long Island-based Jonathan Foster, who has impressed in the past with tracks like “Right This Way” and “Willow Tree,” Red Cabin shows one of their liveliest sounds on the new “Here We Are.” Foster’s vocals here assume a passionate vocal delivery that leans toward the grunge spectrum, beyond some elegant pop flourishes in the backing vocals especially, in addition to the dreamy surf-pop-tinged interlude around 02:20. The “here we are,” vocal repetition during the chorus plays with impassioned conviction. “Here We Are” tends to beg for replays, as is often the case with Red Cabin tracks.
