“Meso Life” is Burly Herd’s follow-up to last month’s excellent track “Betamax.” A more contemplative and lush showing from the London-based four-piece, “Meso Life” explores “escapism in day to day life and the difficulty in snapping back to reality.” Swaying, dreamy guitars complement a vocal tone that reminds of Alex Turner’s more understated material. Serene synth pads and a mellow bass presence become more involved in the second half, all while the song retains a hypnotic turn without any startling jumps. “Meso Life” is a serenely pleasing release from this impressive act.
