Burly Herd – “Meso Life”

/

“Meso Life” is Burly Herd’s follow-up to last month’s excellent track “Betamax.” A more contemplative and lush showing from the London-based four-piece, “Meso Life” explores “escapism in day to day life and the difficulty in snapping back to reality.” Swaying, dreamy guitars complement a vocal tone that reminds of Alex Turner’s more understated material. Serene synth pads and a mellow bass presence become more involved in the second half, all while the song retains a hypnotic turn without any startling jumps. “Meso Life” is a serenely pleasing release from this impressive act.

“Meso Life” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2019’ Spotify playlist.
