“Only1” is a chilled-out pop track with R&B, hip-hop, and electro feels, a thorough success for the NYC-based Sophie Fay. The track begins with a mellow, nocturnal synth-laden shimmer, with Fay’s vocals opening to give way to Mighty Da Don, whose chill soul/hip-hop presence plays well amidst the serene beat. Fay’s vocals re-emerge past the one-minute mark, regaining as a consuming force throughout. Hypnotic and melodic, “Only1” has ample replay value.
Sophie elaborates on the track: “Only1 might seem like another love song at first, but there’s more to it. Even though Mighty is sort of trying to bring his girl back, I’m more in a playful mood and I don’t even mean what I say. I just want to have some fun and “clear my mind” from all the pressure and anxiety. When writing the song I was really inspired by ASAP Rocky’s Pain cuz it’s one of my favs. The vibe is hidden in the music itself.”
