“How Do I Love Thee,” is a catchy new single from Matt Warren, a veteran Chicago-based musician who has been producing since 1984, when he released his debut single “Rock the Nation.” Also the founder of several labels, as well as working as a professional songwriter, mixer, and producer, Warren’s experience shows on this track. Nonchalant vocals emerge amidst a bouncy, Latin-like melodic bounce. The nonchalant vocal presence and vibrant melody reminds of Pet Shop Boys, fondly so. The track comes via the album Music Is My Life, out now through Wake Up! Music.
“This is my first release of my own music in ten years,” Matt says. “I’ve been producing, engineering and remixing for others, but have not focused on my creative needs for a long time. I felt like I wanted to do a record that reflects my journey as both a musician and DJ. I really wanted to give that old school feel to the songs..I guess what I mean is to record “real music” with live instruments and arrangements…which are kind of a homage of all the music I grew up listening to.”
