Niki Moss – “GP Motorcycle Racing”

/

Niki Moss was responsible for some of 2018’s catchiest tracks – specifically, “Soylent Green” and “There’s Something in the Water” – and his latest track continues that vein of infectious songwriting. “GP Motorcycle Racing” glides with Moss’ hazy, psych-friendly vocals — tonally reminiscent of Gruff Rhys — accompanied by a playful range of guitars and keys. Niki Moss’ tracks to date have sported great hooks, and this track is no exception, touting a catchy feel propelled by seamless interplay from guitars and synth/keys.

The project is the alias for multi-instrumentalist Miguel Vilhena, also founder of the label Pontiaq, lead vocalist of the psychedelic rock band Savanna,  and producer of various Portuguese indie bands. His forthcoming album Gooey will be released on April 19th.

“GP Motorcycle Racing” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Indie Rock.
