Walker Landing – “Day Dream Heights”

/

The project of Brandon Wayne Schilling, Walker Landing touts a nocturnal sound, featuring twinkling keys, icy synth arpeggios, and lush vocals. The project’s debut album, 1111, released this week, including standout track “Day Dream Heights.” Haunting vocals ride alongside a mellow bass line, accompanied by a prickly synth arpeggio near the one-minute mark. The bridge at the two-minute mark is another striking moment, with chiming keys and industrial ambiance combining for ’80s-nostalgia beauty. Walker Landing – the project’s music developed between San Francisco, Brooklyn, and Berlin – succeeds with consuming soundscapes and vibrant melodies on this track and album.
