Thomas Passon produces a sound that merges rock and electronica with success. The artist and producer is based in Wuppertal, near Cologne, Germany, and he just released his new album Illusion. Preceding the album this past November was the track “Los.” “Los” touts buzzing guitar-added electronica, with a lively and rockin’ feel. I don’t speak German, so I can’t comment on the lyrics, though the vocal performance is certainly invigorated and empowering. The building-block guitar additions at the one-minute mark complement the verses nicely, as the distortion takes over more fully at 01:14 with melodic charm. “Los” is an enjoyable track with inventive ideas.
