Former Faces – “Colorful Anger”

/

The stylish and suave “Colorful Anger” marks a fluidly catchy success for Former Faces, a project from the Silver Lake neighborhood in Los Angeles. A vibrant bass line is accompanied by slick guitars and a smooth vocal lead. Guitars take hold at 01:43, providing a roaring solo-led bridge that leads seamlessly into an infectious second half. Meticulously produced and melodically accessible while still touting a psych-friendly feel, “Colorful Anger” is a very promising showing from this rising Los Angeles act.

The band describes the track as “a ghost-funk song about outgrowing jealousy and envy en route to finding love.” “Colorful Anger” represents the third single from their forthcoming EP, Open The Gates.

The track’s music video also released today. Check it out below:

“Colorful Anger” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2019’ Spotify playlist.
