The Blue are a rising act that impress with new track “Harley.” A catchy, straightforward beginning features pleasant vocals and pop-friendly guitar work. It builds to great heights, though. The track’s power is evident when the “Harley” chorus hits after the one-minute mark — showcasing a spine-chilling, emotive vocal performance that repeats the track title with melodic yearning: “Harley caught me and pulled me under.” Twangy and melodically delectable, it’s a chorus that works exceedingly well, especially in the transition from straight-ahead verses into this emotional structural centerpiece.
The duo of India Shore and Claire Altendahl formed the project in early 2016, both attending Berklee College of Music. India grew up in Brooklyn, while Claire grew up in the Midwest. They first met while attending an audition together, both being turned down, though starting a very promising musical project in the process.
