Said Seco just released a new album, Thirst, this past week. Among its numerous highlights is the track “Never Really Talk About It,” a lush and entrancing success led by piano and impressive pop melodies. Gradually, and especially as the track hits its chorus at 00:56, expansive flourishes of synths add to the effort’s successful rainy-day vibes. I’m reminded of a modern iteration of Cousteau’s “Heavy Weather.” With an impressive mood and melodic composure, “Never Really Talk About It” is a great entry into this promising project and successful album.
