Remembrance Day was observed this past Sunday, remembering members of the armed forces who died in the line of duty among the Commonwealth of Nations. Vancouver-based artist Geoff Gibbins recently released Shadow of a Stone – Songs of Remembrance, a tribute EP. Tracks like “Please Remember Me” tell of relevant tales, like the story of a young man going to fight in WW2 and leaving his love behind. “Shadow of a Stone” is the release’s title track, a touching effort that highlights the perseverance and courage of those we pay tribute to. His warm vocals combine with twangy guitars to highlight the tribute-forward lyrics.
