“Stuck in the Yard” is the closing track on FayRoy’s new album Oh no, oh man, released this past Friday. Based out of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, the act comprises members influenced by classic surf, ’70s rock, and Wiccan culture. They just wrapped up a two-week tour of the East Coast/Midwest in promotion of the album, which features four other quality tracks in addition (stream it in full below or on Spotify).
The track features suave and fluid guitar work in the verses, which remind fondly of Mark Knopfler in tone. The chorus, a more amped-up burst of infectiousness, resembles early-era Supergrass. The combination of suave retrospection and jumpy hooks make for a quality track, one of several on Oh no, oh man.
“Stuck in the Yard” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2018’ Spotify playlist.
This track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Indie Rock 2018.
