Melbourne artist Barry Bays shows a shimmering, sun-shining sound on new track “Water Your Plant”. The artist’s debut pop/rock single impresses with elements of surf, neo-country, and psych-pop, his jangly guitar work and lushly distingué vocal presence combining for a breezily enjoyable track. The act has an album on the way, dropping on the 25th of September. I was able to take an early listen, and it’s sounding fantastic — well-produced and hook-y, like “Water Your Plant”. Keep an ear out for it.
“Water Your Plant” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2018’ Spotify playlist.
