Draumr is a dream-pop project based in Paris, influenced by a variety of acts ranging from Ariel Pink and Panda Bear to The Beatles. The project is “born of the dialogue between imagination and reality,” and will be releasing an EP on June 22nd. Their new track, “Seamless”, is a captivating release — its melodic effervescence and lyrical content – “crystal blue” – transporting listeners to summer weather, no matter their climate. Spacious synths lead to percussive expansion around the two-minute mark, with the track gliding seamlessly from there. The track reminds me of if later era Manic Street Preachers embraced electronic-minded textures more. The wordless, soaring croon around the three-minute mark excels particularly well.
