The second single off of Sean McVerry’s forthcoming EP Private Lives (releasing 4/20), “Red Light” is a very catchy success from the Brooklyn-based artist and producer. His vocals are quaintly effective, fit for folk sensibilities as well as this electronic-minded pop, and helps drive the track’s infectious core alongside glistening synths, overdriven drum machines, and sharp guitars. Finding inspiration ranging from The Beach Boys to LCD Soundsystem, McVerry’s “Red Light” embraces modern electronic-minded production while showing reverence for instantly captivating melodies and hooks. Private Lives is definitely one I’ll be anticipating.
