It’s easy to get lost in the vibes created by London-based electronic producer OhmField on new track “Rest”. While the rhythms tout a spontaneity reminiscent of trip-hop, OhmField incorporates synths with a more tropical tone just past the one-minute mark, as a faint synth arpeggio looms in the background. Effervescent keys hit around 01:30. The contrast between bright perkiness and murkier crevices makes for a striking sound, one that captures the producr’s eclectic range of influences well — as he successfully strives to blend “contemporary sounds with other, more conventional elements.” Somewhere between the lush vibes of Air and the perkier infectiousness of Ryan Hemsworth, exists OhmField with stylistic comfort.
