Beginning with a quaint, folk-sy acoustical lead and airy vocals, “Life Is But a Dream” then picks up with a gliding piano accompaniment into the vibrant hook, where Ben Talmi asks “is there something better, waiting for me?” Originally from Pittsfield, MA and now based in Brooklyn, the talented singer/songwriter – also the frontman for orchestral pop band Art Decade – again shows his eclectic reach. With prior releases ranging from glitch-laden folk to string quartets and “impressionistic rock,” “Life Is But a Dream” is a a breath of fresh folk-tinged pop exuberance, with a dual vocal delivery repeating the aforementioned question with hypnotic allure over the flourishing pop arrangement.
