Zak Fleisher is an Australian singer/songwriter, who departed the 9-5 grind of an accounting firm to craft some captivating music, stylistically in the vein of Mac Demarco on new track “GLU” and others on his Soundcloud. Fleisher – who has been in bands like The Pugs, The Itch, and EGO – embarks on his solo career with a strong sound. The twangy guitars and suave vocals on “GLU” becomes accompanied by a lush organ/synth around the one-minute mark, allowing for the bustling guitars to provide a reprieve for the vocals. Fleisher’s take on folk merges aspects of rock, blues, and pop, combining with strong songwriting and a mellow vocal presence for a very pleasurable listen.
