Tim Woodbridge – “Outside”

/

Tim Woodbridge produces a majestic vein of folk-inspired rock from the south coast of England, via his Brighton studio. His new single “Outside” is a stellar showing, with Woodbridge’s haunting vocals emitting a memorable croon over shimmering, twanging guitar work. In terms of atmosphere, it’s relatively akin aesthetically to Led Zeppelin’s Lord of the Rings infatuation on several folk-minded tracks, though with Woodbridge’s vocals more on the Thom Yorke spectrum, tonally. Mastered by Frank Arkwright, “Outside” does well in capturing an almost magical feel, the frolicking guitar work and medieval-like organ burst at 01:41 transporting listeners to another, more delightful state of mind.
