Morning Myth is the new project of guitarist Ross King and singer Aimee Herbert-Smith. They formed the project in the beginning of this year, their mutual admiration for Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, John Martyn, and Fleetwood Mac showing in a captivating, lush sound that sounds weightless and dreamy. With a Mazzy Star-esque allure and a showing elements of dream-pop, “Murmur” is the project’s striking debut. Herbert-Smith’s vocals float with ethereal charm, as King’s fluttering guitars are accompanied by sporadic tinges of key chiming. This is a dreamy, captivating success that firmly puts Morning Myth on my radar.
