“Hear My Heart” is a lush new single from FMFL (Functional Music for Lovers), the project of Adam Matschulat, a sound artist and producer from Sao Paulo, Brasil who has been based in London since 2007. Ahead of his debut album releasing on May 28th, “Hear My Heart” progresses with patient elegance, soft vocals and melancholic synth progressions combining for an effective aesthetic. Mid-way, the vocals assume a prominent role with only a slight keyboard backing, before the more expansive synths re-emerge at the two-minute mark. It makes for a captivating aesthetic, and an act whose debut I look forward to hearing.
