Boston-based act TOLEDO impressed last October with the powerful “On My Own“, touting sparsely effective beauty. Their track “Hesperus” also deserves notice, especially with a new video for it just releasing. Beginning with an acoustical shiver and wintry lyrical imagery that fits great, describing Colorado winter with a Sufjan Stevens-like appeal, “Hesperus” intertwines a memorable melody with an enjoyably shivering sense of emotion. Animated by Noah Ruff, the video does great in capturing the setting, especially when guitars signal a more energetic shift around 02:40, unleashing an arsenal of melodic hooks.
