Amera are an act whose expansive vein of electronica has earned them an expansive following of their live sets. Their sound incorporates infectious beat drops and engaging soundscapes in studio and live, the trio of vocalist Brooke Adams, classical pianist and synth specialist Mikael Oganes, and French and American guitarist and composer Donovan Butez working excellently together. The chemistry is evident on “Connected”, a highlight off their new eponymous EP, streaming in full below. Murky alt-rock beginnings transition to more electro-aligned beats around 01:20, when frantic percussion and synth bustling leads to an exhilarating re-entry around 02:40. It’s an exciting, impressively eclectic track that shows the group’s intensity and range in fine form.
