The gritty “Fuck the System” sports a haunting piano lead and ominous bass line, as Jesse Bland aka Jay Hunna raps about injustice, specifically addressing the tragic death of his cousin Sandra Bland, which sparked nationwide attention in July 2015. From the south side of Chicago, Jay Hunna utilizes a very intense vocal delivery over the darkly effective backing beat, understated in its elegant piano-based presentation. The sound of gunshots creep in toward the three-minute mark, as Jay returns with meaningful verses on being proud for who you are and standing tall. It’s a showcase of his more emotionally gripping side, after featuring “Good Ol’ Music” in September.
