Just released today, “Surrender” is an entrancing track from Kode Maya, a pop duo from Österbotten, Finland. A subdued guitar accompanies the vocals in the minimal introduction, though the swift addition of a glistening synth and twinkling keys alongside handclap percussion quickly builds momentum toward the haunting transition around the one-minute mark. Around 01:25 an interesting, tribal-like shift occurs that preps nicely for the percussive enhancement around the two-minute mark, when the expansive melodic prowess of Kode Maya reveals itself. “Surrender” is a superb track that develops with rich melodic fervor.

I like this track! Needs more airplay, takes me to Spain during summer on one of those lazy Saturday evenings when all you want is a cup of coffee and watch teenagers playing beachball and goofing around on the beach.
