Saunas – “My Body”

/

Out of Nashville, Saunas is a brand new project that formed when two friends, Hans and Jay, reunited at a wedding and began collaborating. The duo developed a unique sound, culling their love from ’70s and ’80s inspirations, between sessions in Nashville and Atlanta. Their lyrics provide thoughtful introspection, tackling topics like patience, modern life, and striving to be a better person. Saunas’ new self-titled EP was produced by Jeremy Clark (Rayland Baxter, Okey Dokey).

“My Body” is headlined by perky vocals and playful percussion, with the spirited vocal performance having a bit of Afro-pop resemblance to Paul Simon’s more modern forays. The groove really rides around 01:10, when soaring backing vocals with a surf-pop tinge ride on a tropical melody. Easy-breezy listening from Saunas is evident, with a fresh and carefree sound that’s ideal for summer listening.
