“Hey Doll” is a hook-y piece of songwriting from Pittsburgh rock artist Freddie Nelson, who first gained recognition in 2010 after collaborating with guitarist Paul Gilbert (of Racer X and Mr. Big) on the album United States. He began working as a solo artist after, starting writing and recording new album Shake the Cage in 2015. Releasing on July 7th, the album includes “Hey Doll”, an effort with a punchy chorus that plays it simply yet effective in the power-pop/alternative vein. “Light” is another album cut that’s recommend; stream it in full below:
