Floral Couches, based out of Chicago, released his new album Electric Fever a few days ago. One of its numerous highlights, “Ketamine Dreaming” is a nice display of Floral Couches’ late-night atmospheric development and knack for emerging, twinkling hooks — present here just past the one-minute mark, with twangy guitars entering the fold shortly thereafter. Hints of guitar emerge on the release’s third track, “Now You’ve Done It”, as well, though on a whole Electric Fever is largely a display of nocturnal electronic melodies and bedroom-pop magic, not far from the aesthetic of Memory Tapes or early Neon Indian.
