“Telephono” is the debut single from California’s Cape Weather, who conjure ’60s nostalgia with the track’s sweetly seductive vocals, suave guitar jangles, and overall hypnotic allure — aided nicely by the subtle brass-y undercurrent. The act is a collaboration between Natalie Smith (Oakland, CA) and Eric Jackowitz (Los Angeles), who combined their mutual love for power-pop in “a love letter” of sorts to their favorite music. “Telephono” is a great testament to that love, intertwining classic-pop nostalgia with modern charm — telephone or smartphone, either way.
